On 6th March 2018, we celebrated our new Finnish scholar, Katri Sajama, at the award ceremony of Queen Silvia Nursing Award Finland, which took place at the Embassy of Sweden in Helsinki, Finland. Participants at the event included Katri Sajama, Ambassador Anders Ahnlid, and representatives of our partners who have been supporting the scholarship in Finland.
During the ceremony, the ambassador gave a speech on the importance of initiatives like the Queen Silvia Nursing Award for our society and nurses’ development. Our new scholar Katri Sajama also shared her thoughts and feelings about healthcare, the opportunities she received through the scholarship and her views on innovation within healthcare. Lastly, we had Annika von Schantz, Chairman of the Nursing Association in Finland and Head of Operation at Hugo och Maria Winbergs stiftelse, who reemphasised the importance of our nurses and their impact on our society, and especially within the elderly and dementia care sector that has grown increasingly demanding.
All in all, it was an event filled with joy and rewarding conversations. For Katri Sajama, her fellow-year has just kicked off to a great start, and a more exciting journey, experiences and meetings are waiting ahead for her.
